Gemini, ChatGPT or Claude: which one to choose for small business

Gemini, ChatGPT or Claude: which one to choose for a small business?

The short answer is to choose based on what you do most and the ecosystem you're already using, not based on rumors about which one is "smarter". Gemini is Google's AI assistant (see What is Gemini?), ChatGPT is from OpenAI, and Claude is from Anthropic. This post doesn't rank them by intelligence, because we don't have any independent measurement, and we don't quote company benchmarks. Prices in this post come from official pricing pages read on 04/11/2026: we could read the Gemini and Claude pages, but the ChatGPT pricing page blocks automatic access so we don't list ChatGPT prices. The comparison follows job categories, price, ecosystem and data rights, then describes how OPCAIOS combines multiple agents.

Why you shouldn't ask "which one is smarter"?

The question "which one is smarter" between Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude is hard to answer correctly for a small business, because the result depends on the specific task, how you write the request and which model version is running. All three companies update models very quickly: according to Gemini's release notes, Gemini 4 Argon started rolling out from 13/10/2026 for Google AI Pro and Ultra plans, while Claude's pricing page read on 04/11/2026 lists the Opus, Sonnet, Haiku and Fable models. Benchmarks published by companies are measured on their own test sets, not on your Vietnamese sales emails. A more practical way to choose includes four steps:

  1. List the three most time-consuming tasks each week.
  2. Take the same real prompt (with customer data removed) and give it to all three free versions.
  3. Score based on your criteria: meets your needs, needs little editing, matches your brand voice.
  4. Check which tool is built into the applications you use every day. This is a suggestion, results will differ for each person.

Gemini, ChatGPT or Claude: how do they compare by job?

Comparing Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude by job means matching the features each company advertises with the work small businesses do daily, not scoring quality. The table below only records what we could read from official pages on 04/11/2026; "couldn't read" means we couldn't verify it today.

How much do Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude's personal plans cost?

Gemini's personal plans on gemini.google/subscriptions (read on 04/11/2026, page displayed for Vietnam region, priced in đồng) have four tiers, while Claude on claude.com/pricing is priced in US dollars and explicitly states tax is not included. The Gemini page does not indicate whether prices include tax.

Plan Price read on 04/11/2026
Gemini Free 0 ₫
Google AI Plus 132,000 ₫/month
Google AI Pro 489,000 ₫/month
Google AI Ultra from 2,250,000 ₫/month
Claude Free 0 USD
Claude Pro 20 USD/month, or 17 USD/month when paying yearly (200 USD once)
Claude Max 100 USD/month
Claude Ultra 200 USD/month
ChatGPT Free 0 ₫
ChatGPT Go 132,000 ₫/month (page notes this plan may include ads)
ChatGPT Plus 522,500 ₫/month
ChatGPT Pro from 2,849,000 ₫/month

Three notes when reading the table:

  1. Gemini and ChatGPT prices are displayed for Vietnam (chatgpt.com/vi-VN/pricing, read using browser on 04/11/2026), Claude prices are in US dollars; when paying in Vietnam they may differ and tax is added.
  2. Each plan has usage limits; the Gemini page lists limits that reset every 5 hours up to a weekly cap.
  3. Claude Max and Ultra plans come with monthly API credits; for a detailed comparison of Gemini plans see the post Gemini free and paid.

How do Gemini and Claude's business plans differ?

Gemini's business plans typically come through Google Workspace, while Claude's business plans are Team and Enterprise, priced per seat. According to workspace.google.com/pricing (read on 04/11/2026, US dollars, tax not included), standard pricing is Starter 7 USD, Standard 14 USD, Plus 22 USD per person per month, with promotional rates for new customers; Starter has only limited Gemini, Standard and above have Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Meet. The gemini.google page on the same day lists the Business plan "from 21 USD" per license, so the two Google pages show different numbers; please verify at checkout. According to claude.com/pricing:

  1. Claude Team Standard seat: 25 USD/month, or 20 USD/month when paying yearly.
  2. Claude Team Premium seat: 125 USD/month, or 100 USD/month when paying yearly.
  3. Team scale: from 2 to 150 people.
  4. Claude Enterprise self-serve: 20 USD per seat per month paying yearly, plus usage fees at API rates, minimum 20 seats.

ChatGPT Business and Enterprise prices we have not read today; the personal pricing page lists the Business plan for a minimum of 2 users.

Which ecosystem suits small businesses best?

The best suited ecosystem is the one you are already paying for and using every day, because the AI assistant built into email and documents saves you the step of copying back and forth. Three options, based on what was read on 04/11/2026:

  1. Already using Gmail, Google Drive, Google Meet: Gemini has the integration advantage; the Google AI Pro plan adds Gemini to Gmail, Docs, Vids and 5 TB storage, Workspace Standard has Gemini in office apps. See Gemini in Google Workspace.
  2. Writing code, making technical documents, automating: Claude Pro has Claude Code, Google has Antigravity and Gemini CLI, OpenAI has Codex; compare programming agents in the post Claude Code, Cursor or Codex CLI.
  3. Team already familiar with ChatGPT: switching tools costs effort to learn again, so measure whether your needs truly exceed what the current plan can do before moving.

A typical business person (hypothetically) usually only needs one main paid plan and one free version for comparison.

How are data rights different between Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude?

Data rights are the biggest difference between personal and business plans, and for small businesses it matters more than which model is newer. What we read on 04/11/2026:

  1. Gemini personal: according to Gemini Apps Privacy Hub, when Keep Activity is enabled, Google uses activity to improve services, including model training; automatically deletes after 18 months by default; part of conversations is reviewed by people and kept for a maximum of 3 years.
  2. Gemini in Workspace: according to Generative AI in Google Workspace Privacy Hub, content is not reviewed by people or used for model training outside your organization unless you permit it.
  3. Claude personal: the pricing page states users have the choice about whether data is used for training.
  4. Claude Team and Enterprise: the pricing page states data is not used for training by default.
  5. ChatGPT: OpenAI's business data policy page blocks automatic access, we couldn't read it today.

General rule: don't paste customer data, contracts, passwords into personal plans. Read more at 5 data security rules when using AI. This is a reference, not legal advice.

OPCAIOS's experience

OPCAIOS doesn't pick one of the three but combines multiple agents, each agent one role. Google Antigravity, running Gemini model, acts as the coordinator agent on the main Mac; Antigravity's model list on our account on 03/11/2026 has Gemini 4 Argon and Gemini 3.8 Flash, this list is account-specific and may differ on your machine. Claude Code and Codex run in parallel for website programming. The detailed work split is in the post Antigravity, Claude Code and Codex in one system. Three takeaways:

  1. One common instruction file for all agents sets the order of reading documents and logging, so switching tools doesn't lose context.
  2. The opcaios.org admin page has a provider option for Google Gemini for AI writing features, so we can switch providers without rewriting features.
  3. We have no measurement showing which tool is better, and we don't disclose costs.

We haven't used ChatGPT Business, haven't used Gemini Live, haven't systematically compared Vietnamese language quality between the three tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do small businesses need to pay for Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude all at once?

Usually not. All three have free versions, enough to try with a real task for a week or two. Then pick a paid plan for the tool you use most, keeping the free versions of the other two for cross-checking when needed. Each quarter, review how much of your paid plan's quota you actually use. If you use little, downgrade or cancel.

Does Gemini pricing in Vietnam already include tax?

The page gemini.google/subscriptions read on 04/11/2026 shows prices in dong for the Vietnam region, for example Google AI Pro 489,000 ₫/month, but does not clearly state whether tax is included. The Claude pricing page clearly states prices do not include tax, and the Google Workspace pricing page also states prices do not include tax. The final amount appears at the payment step and can change over time, so check again before subscribing. This is reference information, not tax advice.

What is ChatGPT pricing in Vietnam?

According to the page chatgpt.com/vi-VN/pricing read by browser on 04/11/2026, ChatGPT has four personal plans: Free 0 ₫, Go 132,000 ₫/month, Plus 522,500 ₫/month, and Pro from 2,849,000 ₫/month. The page notes the Go plan may have ads, and under the privacy section of personal plans, content may be used to train the model but users can opt out. The page does not state whether prices include tax. We have not read the Business and Enterprise plan pricing, so check again at the payment step before subscribing.

Which plan is safer for customer data?

Enterprise plans are safer than personal plans at both companies we could read. Google states that Workspace content is not used to train models outside the organization without permission; Anthropic states that Claude Team and Enterprise by default do not use data for training. With personal plans, check activity settings and training permissions before use. With any plan, you should still remove names, phone numbers, and account numbers from documents before pasting. We could not read ChatGPT's policy today.

Which tool should newcomers start with?

Start with the tool built into where you work most. If you use Gmail and Google Drive, try Gemini first; if you write many long documents or want to learn programming with agents, try Claude; if your team is already familiar with ChatGPT, learn to use it deeply before switching. Give the same real task to two tools over a week before deciding to pay. If you want a roadmap for choosing and using AI tools for each role in your business, see OPCAIOS's AI application training course.
